Oregon Part 1: First Stop and Truck Upgrades
Old Stone RV Resort was an excellent initial stop for the Townsends. Conveniently located next to the Evergreen Air & Space Museum, it offered a fantastic pool, gym, laundry, and showers. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. We highly recommend this place to everyone! We've even booked another month for September when we return to assist with the harvest at Jachter Family Wines.
During our two-week stay, we spent quality family time, adapting to living in 400 square feet and establishing new routines. Allison enjoyed the summer by swimming and making new friends with other kids at the RV resort. Paxton spent time with my sister at the winery, preparing for bottling and harvest, and visited the air and space museum several times. He's trying to sell his current dirt bike to save up for an upgrade. Ken worked on coordinating truck upgrades and had a custom rack made for the truck to transport our side-by-side. Nicky was busy making the fifth wheel feel like home with plenty of organizing and decorating.
Our new electric bikes arrived, and we had a lot of fun assembling them and testing them out by riding around the RV resort and the air and space museum.
Ken turned 41 on July 17th, and his wish was to head to the coast, walk along the beach with mimosas, and search for agates and floats! We surprised the kids by booking two spots at Lincoln City Glass Blowing, where they got to create their own float or paperweight. It was an amazing day and a wonderful way to celebrate Ken!
The truck, affectionately named "Big Booty Judy" by the kids, got a makeover with an over-the-cab rack. It was installed on our last full day in Oregon, thanks to the great team at Fab it Up, who worked through a thunderstorm to get it done. As our time in Oregon ended, we didn't have enough time to complete the truck delete, but Ken has everything needed to finish it at our next stop.
That sums up what felt like a very quick stop in Oregon.
